Behind the Scenes on a Custom Home Build

We love designing and building custom wine storage for our clients from small wine cellars that double as furniture to luxury wine rooms, and everything in between. Recently we designed a cellar to be built into a custom home on 47 acres in Park City, Utah and we thought it would be fun to share some behind-the-scenes shots from the installation of this unique project.

The custom 7,000 square foot home will be perfectly situated to take in all the views with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the property's trout pond backed by the Uinta mountain range. A horse barn and guest house are also being built on site to complete this amazing estate, which already feels like it's straight out of the pages of Architectural Digest. 

We spent two days on the build site to install the wine cellar so the Champagne is chilled and ready to be popped as soon as construction is complete.

Matching the Materials

Based on our elegant VV Series wine cabinet design, the custom cellar is fully clad in Wyoming Stone Fence, with black painted and metal accents. Everything was designed to match the home’s exterior and interior finishes to create a one-of-a-kind, rustic-modern look that fits in beautifully with the expansive mountain views.

Details Add Drama

We consulted with local glass experts, Bullseye Glass, to come up with the marbled glass panels that mimic wood grain in daylight and can be back-lit in the evening.

Internal dimmers and diffusing panels help distribute light and give the owner’s control over the effect, which can range from a subtle glow for quiet evenings to dramatic contrast for entertaining.

Sleek, black metal trim hand-forged in Oregon completes the look and ties in with metal accents found throughout the home.

Storing & Showcasing

The owners love their bubbly, and this universal racking system will house sections of both regular format and Champagne bottles with a lit display row to showcase favorite selections. Professional grade cooling will protect their treasured wine collection for years to come.

Designed to Deliver

We create all of our pieces with delivery in mind, which can be a challenge on a cellar of this size. With doors and hallways already in place on the home, we designed and built the 8 by 6 foot cellar in panels and then assembled them on site while the construction crew built out the living room around us, making for a very smooth installation day.
